Hand Made Soaps

For the past two weekends I have gone to a farmer’s market with the Bunny and have gotten handmade soaps.  Now, generally, I don’t like hand made soaps because, while they smell pretty, I don’t feel clean after I use them.  They tend to have lots of moisturizers in them, which is great if you have dry skin, but I don’t, and the soaps tend to be soft and fall apart.

But not these soaps.  These soaps (which you can get at abundantlyaromatic.com) smell great, are hard, and make me feel clean.  I LOVE them.  And they have sandalwood scent and sage scent, both of which I love.  There is also lavender, french market, and lemon grass, just to name a few.

The website also has body scrubs, candles, and room sprays.  Good stuff.

  1. Mmmm. That scent always makes me smile when I pass by their booth. I am so glad those worked out for you! I still have a load of soaps I got at Scarborough Faire, but when those are gone, I am thinking I’ll load up on thses–that sandalwood was absolutely fabulous!

  2. I’ve always liked sandalwood and so have sort of claimed it in my head, so I was in heaven when I found a bar of soap in “my” smell. (which isn’t to say that I’m all possessive and get pissed whenever anyone else DARES to like the same smell, that is my disclaimer :) ) I have noticed in using the soaps thought that the sandalwood and nag champa blend soap (which I TOTALLY love) leaves that scent on your skin whereas the lavender soap is a nice in the shower smell but doesn’t really leave your skin smelling like lavender. I haven’t used the sage and sea salt one yet as I don’t want to have twelve billion bars of soap in use, but it smells really nice, so I can’t wait. My mom used her French Market one that I got her and was happy because it didn’t make her skin itch like other soaps and left her smelling like the soap. She ran around the house last night and was trying to get everyone to huff her arm. :)

  3. Daww, that’s sweet. I really ought to give in to the temptation, then, especially now that my skin needs pampering a bit more, I am told. :)

  4. Did you check out their website? They have different types of soaps and bath products, and shea butter, too, in nice smells. :)

  5. Not yet, but I really ought to. Thanks for the tip, the shea butter sounds like something I just might need.

  7. You’re very welcome. I LOVE your soaps. I really love all the scents and I LOVE that they don’t make me feel oily, and that they last FOREVER. I go to the Farmer’s Market and buy them, they are GREAT!
