Hiking In 107 Degrees
So a friend and I went hiking in Cedar Hill State Park, which is like 20 minutes from my house (squee!!!) on Sunday. Being in a State Park is like going to church for me, especially in the mornings when the sun is coming up and the birds are starting to sing, or in the evenings when the sun is setting and everything is getting ready to go to sleep (or do some night prowling, as the case may be), so I was really excited about going out to hike.
Did you know that you can pay like sixty bucks and get a card to get into ANY State Park (that includes anyone in your car) for free for a year? The way I go to State Parks, the card would more than pay for itself within a month (it is about 5 bucks a person to get in).
Anyway, we went out hiking, and it wasn’t too bad. There was a breeze and there was lots of trees for shade. We got to see lots of birds, and a little green heron. We also got to talk to a Park Ranger who wanted to make sure that we had lots of water. Nice guy.
All in all, the heat wasn’t really that bad. There were a couple of places on the trail that were out in the sun and kind of sucked, but we always got back into the trees or a breeze would pick up before the suck got too bad. It was nice to be out in nature and to smell all the trees. Good stuff.

Thanks! Really interesting. Big ups!
