Bees

This week at work I have been teaching the kids about signs of Spring, which includes bees, how they make honey, and why they are good.  After being forced to stay inside a couple of days due to rain, the kids were very excited to go out and play, and, of course, to point out all the signs of Spring.

Enter the bee.  Sitting on one of the slides a bee that seemed to be in distress stood.  The bee couldn’t fly and kept trying to sting the slide so the other teachers and I thought it would be best to kill the bee.  Once decided, my assistant teacher reaches over, and using a stick and some paper towels, squishes the bee.

And one of my girls says, “And there is all it’s honey!!!!”

Priceless.
